# Dazai Quickstart (No Dark Mode because I'm broke lmao) Thank you for inviting Dazai into your server, you might now be wondering how to use Dazai. By following this *seemingly* basic tutorial. ### Setting up a server prefix Think `daz COMMAND` is too long? There is a way to change your prefix. You can use ``` daz settings prefix NEWPREFIX ``` For example, If I wanted my prefix to be `d!` , I would need to do `daz settings prefix d!` # Permissions Permissions can look quite complicated at first but can be learned relatively easily and provides an easy and reliable way to give certain non-admin users permissions. ### What is a permission / permission node? A permission/permission node is the required permission that a user must have to execute a command. This is not to be confused with regular Discord permissions which (with the exception of the Administrator permission) does not affect whether or not you can execute a command. ### Groups Permissions with Dazai is a group/roles system. There are at the moment 5 different permission groups possible. They are: * Everyone (Default) * DJ * Extra Role 1 * Moderator * Extra Role 2 * Admin (Anyone with Administrator Permissions in their roles will also gain this permission set) ### Be careful of who you give admin to! Aside from very few Server Owner only commands, admins have essentially every permission unlocked. This allows them to execute almost any command! Make sure you vet the people who you give the admin role to! ### Permissions Inheritance Permission groups will actually inherit permissions from groups below them. The chain of inheritance goes Everyone => DJ => Extra Role 1 => Moderator => Extra Role 2. This means that even if a user does not have the role associated with DJ, if they have a role associated with Extra Role 1, Moderator or Extra Role 2, they will gain the DJ permission set. ### List of Permissions {% embed url="" %} ### How to actually modify permissions Now that you learned about what permissions actually are, it is time to apply your knowledge to manage Dazai in your server better! There are 2 ways to manage permissions. One is from the [Web Panel](/web-panel-help/webpanel-quickstart) and the other is by the permissions command. # Misc # Vote Just returns the link to vote with ``` daz vote ``` # Credits Shows info about who made the bot. ``` daz credits ``` # Bot Stats Displays the Shard stats ( ``` daz botstats ``` #### Aliases ``` daz bs ``` # Curve viewCurve With Dazai's levelling system, the amount of XP given each time decreases exponentially by default and can be customized. To view how much XP you gain, you can do ``` daz curve ``` which allows you to see how much the curve has curved for you and how much you can still gain each time. To modify the curve, try ``` daz curve set NEWCURVE ``` replacing **NEWCURVE** with a value between 0 and 9. To disable levelling entirely and "freeze" levelling, you can try setting **NEWCURVE** to 0. Well now you can "rip" it and add it into your server! You can either specify a message link containing the emote(Copy the message link by shift + hovering over the message and pressing the link icon) or if you have nitro, use the emote yourself ``` daz ripemote ``` # Report Report a bug. You can choose to show context (Much more helpful) or not by changing the first parameter to yes or no respectively. You can also attach additional comments at the end to help us out. Abuse of this feature may get you blacklisted. ``` daz report yes daz report no daz report yes I was just using the bot but then it suddenly commited suicide. ``` # Nick nickLock This will set a person's nickname and "Lock" it to the value specified. Maximum of 250 deleted messages per channel. Total amount of people skipped must be greater than the number of people in the Voice Call plus one divided by two (modeled in equation below where S is the number of people who are skipping, n is the total # of people in the Voice Call. This equation must be true in order to skip the song). If you do not wish to accumulate a majority of votes, you may try the Privileged Force Skip $$ S > (n+1)/2 $$ ``` daz voteskip ``` #### Aliases ``` daz vs ``` # Force Skip skipSong This instantly forces a skip, bypassing voting for skips ( Basically counts as ∞ skips). Dazai has a bunch of useful settings commands that can help tailor your experience with Dazai! # Setting Up Custom Messages admin Sometimes, you want to welcome a new member to your discord server or change what Dazai says when you level up. You can do these with **Message Events**. To start off, there are currently 4 implemented events: 1. Join Message (`join`) 2. DM Message on Join (`joinDM`) 3. Leave Message (`leave`) 4. Levelup message (`levelup`) With 5 custom variables ``` {USERNAME} The user's username {MENTION} Pinging the user {ID} The ID of the User {OLDLVL} The level the user just passed (Only for Levelup Message) {NEWLVL} The level the user just got to (Only for Levelup Message) ``` To set the messages, you just need to do : ``` daz settings messageevent ``` This will enter the MessageEvent setup and guide you through setting up message events! ![](/files/-MVIgpGoPNCzy4TqxnqA) ![This is what join messages will look like if the same setup steps were followed](/files/-MVIgstlzVmiavQu_3V3) # Setting up Reaction Roles admin Lets say you wanted to let people opt in to gain roles. You could do this with Dazai's Reaction Roles feature. By default, all servers have 50 Slots they can use. To start off, you are going to need to copy the message id of the message. You can do this by holding the `Shift` key and hovering over the message. You should see an extended set of buttons. Click on the button with the symbol ID. You should now have the Channel-Message ID pair copied. ![](/files/-MVIcPKYFjvFobOl0VpI) Next, you want to type in ``` daz reactionrole create ``` and append your copied ID to the command while replacing the dash with the space. (Ex: if your copied message id was`818582747219623967-818586912725401640`, you would change it to `818582747219623967 818586912725401640`).\ Next, specify what emote users should react to. The emote that you specify must either be a default discord emote(Usable in DMs without nitro) or a server emote. Make sure you have a space between the emote and message ID!. Finally, you can either ping the role you would like people to gain or find its ID. we recommend that you just ping the role as finding the ID requires Developer Mode. ![](/files/-MVIcfJvBhdB0If8tP1u) # Setting Up Level Rewards With Dazai's Levelling system, you can award roles for gaining levels much like bots MEE6 but without the cost! To start off, create a Level Reward by using the create a level reward command ``` daz settings levelreward create ``` Just answer the questions Dazai asks and you should be all set! ![Please note we do not advise giving out any admin permission roles via level rewards. This can be fixed by giving Dazai the required permissions. ### Fixes for specific commands #### Purge Purge requires the Manage Message permission from Discord. To grant it permission, right click on the channel, go to Edit Channel then Permissions then click on advanced permissions.
